Stick to a consistent skin care regimen.
- An important part of working with combination skin is following a day and night skincare routine. This means that you use the same product 1-2 times a day for at least a month to get your skin used to the diet.
Cleanse your face with cleanser once or twice a day.
Little by little, sometimes once a week.
Finish with moisturizing cream once in the morning and once in the evening.
Focus on treating different parts of the face.
- For this type of skin, you should focus on treating two types of skin. You should moisturize dry areas of your face and reduce excess sebum in oily areas of your face. Usually the fattest part of the face is the T-zone (forehead, nose, upper mouth and chin). Instead of treating your entire face with one product, target specific areas of your face based on your skin type.
For example, if you have acne on your forehead and you know your forehead is oily, use a spot treatment to remove only the fat on your forehead. If your cheeks are dry and irritated, use moisturizing products only on that area.
Use oil-based cleansers on dry skin.
- Cleansing products made from natural oils like coconut oil and olive oil are great for dry to very dry skin and may only work on dry areas of combination skin. Although oil-based cleansers are not harmful to your skin, they are not recommended for oily skin. During the trial period, you can try various oil-based cleansers. If you experience acne or side effects, consider using a professional cleanser with other ingredients to better care for oily skin. Start with a very simple all-natural honey cleanser:
- You will need three tablespoons of honey, ½ cup of vegetable glycerin (available at most health food stores), and two tablespoons of liquid castile soap.
Combine ingredients in a large bowl. Pour it into an empty bottle for easy use.
Apply a small amount to face and neck. Massage skin with fingertips for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This will help loosen any dirt or grime on the surface of the skin. After cleansing, wash your face with lukewarm water, then pat dry with a towel.
You can also try an oil-based cleanser with coconut or olive oil and a hot towel. To make sure you’re using the purest natural facial products, look for organic cold-pressed coconut oil or olive oil.
Rub the oil on your face with your fingertips for 30 seconds. Then dampen a towel with warm water and apply the hot towel to your face. Leave the oil on your face for 15 to 30 seconds, then gently wipe off the oil with a rag. Avoid washing your face and only apply oil.
Make a natural peel.
- You can exfoliate after cleansing your face to remove dead skin cells, especially if your facial area is dry and clogged with dead skin cells. Exfoliating also prevents clogged pores and dull skin. Start by exfoliating with a homemade scrub once or twice a week.
Peeling is not recommended for people with sensitive skin. Use exfoliation sparingly. Try a small patch of skin to test. You can use it on other parts of your face if it doesn’t irritate or irritate your skin.
Most homemade scrubs use brown sugar as a base because it’s considered gentler on the skin than granulated sugar. You can also use natural oils like patchouli, tea tree and lavender to give your skin a healthy glow.
For sensitive skin, mix 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup ground oatmeal, and 1/2 cup honey. Rub it on your face for 30 seconds to a minute to remove dead skin cells and scrub gently.
